Dear Santa, I wear a size 7-night Disney cruise…
There are plenty of ways to spend Christmas at Disney, but a Very Merrytime Cruise lets you trade the holiday rush for a few days at sea, without giving up any of the Disney Christmas fun! You still get the giant tree, characters dressed for the season, holiday music and plenty of decorations… except you might be heading to a tropical island the next morning.

Disney Cruise Line’s Very Merrytime Cruises return in November and December 2026, with holiday sailings from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Galveston, Texas; and San Diego, California.
The Ships Go All-Out for Christmas!
Disney decks out its ships with a 24-foot Christmas tree, sparkling decorations and a giant gingerbread house (unlike Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort). Mickey and friends appear in their holiday outfits, Santa comes aboard, and special entertainment includes Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Party, and Mickey & Minnie’s Merrytime Tree Lighting — with served hot cocoa and cookies!

Pack your family’s matching Christmas pajamas for all of those photo ops!
Christmas Movies at Sea
One of my favorite parts of sailing Disney is catching a movie at sea, and that gets even better at Christmas! Disney Cruise Line screens movies in its onboard theaters, as well as on the FunnelVision out on the top deck. Holiday sailings can add seasonal favorites into the mix, including The Santa Claus, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

— Watching The Muppet Christmas Carol in the middle of the ocean? I really don’t need much more convincing.
Exclusive Holiday Merchandise
We can’t avoid the topic of SHOPPING. Very Merrytime sailings bring exclusive seasonal Disney Cruise Line merchandise aboard, giving us all another reason to browse the shops for gifts (for the family… and yourself).
You can even have Christmas waiting inside your stateroom. For 2026, Disney is offering a Happy Holiday Decor! package for $139, which includes a holiday banner, stocking, illuminated wreath, Mickey and Minnie ship-shaped pillow, Daisy Duck fairy plush and character blanket. These seasonal packages have limited availability, so as soon as you have your sailing booked, you should preorder this!

2026 Discounts Make It Even More Tempting…
Disney currently offers discounts on select 2026 cruises, including eligible holiday-season departures. Florida residents can also save up to 30% on select sailings, making it worth comparing dates before choosing your Christmas cruise.
And don’t forget another perk when booking through Dreams Unlimited Travel: our travel professionals offer up to $1,000 in shipboard credit on qualifying Disney Cruise Line reservations! That’s extra money for specialty dining, drinks, spa treatments, merchandise or perhaps a few Christmas presents from the onboard shops.

Between the sparkling decorations (think of all the stateroom door decorating options!), Christmas movies, special entertainment, exclusive merchandise and the simple novelty of spending the holidays at sea, a Very Merrytime Cruise makes a pretty convincing case.
