Don’t Miss This Personalized Souvenir From Disney’s Lookout Cay

Look at this trove, treasures untold…

What’s better than a souvenir? A personalized one! Color me surprised as I entered the shopping area of Disney’s Lookout Cay (at Lighthouse Point, on the Island of Eleuthera of the Bahamas) to find handmade bags featuring some familiar faces.

Across from Disney T’ings, the island’s main Disney shop, you’ll find Treasures of Eleuthera: a showcase of products handcrafted by local Bahamian artists. It’s tough to miss the fixture of colorful straw bags. While these aren’t official pieces of Disney merchandise (or are they now?), it’s quite charming and maybe even a little odd to find a locally-handmade item prominently featuring a Disney character at a Disney destination.

It’s almost like the equivalent of Disney sanctioning “Times Square Mickey” as a photo-op… I mean this in the best way possible. We love the absurdity. And what’s even better, for just a few dollars more, one of the artists will embroider your name or message in any color you’d like!

The personalization only took a few minutes, and being able to watch the “magic happen” really added to my Lookout Cay experience. Supporting the local artists AND adding Disney-themed Junkanoo accessories to my wardrobe? A win all around.

Now, let’s get back to that beautiful water…
