Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is Disney’s second Bahamian paradise. It officially opened to guests in June 2024.

The DIS Unlimited team got to visit during a 5-night Bahamian cruise out of Port Canaveral on the Disney Fantasy and the DCL Show gave it our assessment, looking at the BEST & WORST.

Among the best:

  • The beach: There was widespread agreement: The beach at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is one of the best any of us have visited.
  • Embracing the Bahamian culture: This island does a lovely job of embracing the Bahamian culture, with the Junkanoo parade and the cultural center, the design and architecture, and even the costumes, and even the merchandise – and even the pier, which is in appreciation of the Bahamian environment;
  • The food: It is a step up from the food at Disney Castaway Cay;
  • Soft-serve: Yes, they have it at Disney’s Castaway Cay, but… could it actually be better at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point?
  • The nature trek – It is a lovely way to see the natural beauty of this Bahamian island.

Among the meh:

  • The pier – While the pier isn’t nearly as daunting as it looks, it is a 15-minute walk to get to the shore;
  • Transportation – After the trek along the pier, there is a tram to get to the main beach. (But that beach is SO worth it!)
  • A lack of shade – This may come as the trees grow, but, when we were there, the winds prevented us from putting up umbrellas, so… there was a lot of sun;
  • The family cabanas seem misplaced – The family cabanas are located closest to the ship, but they are separated from the rest of the facilities. We believe there is a reason for this, but… Disney Cruise Line hasn’t provided one for us;
  • Wanting more of the Mouse: The island does a great job of appreciating the Bahamian culture, but it seems to lack some of the Disney-ness that Disney Castaway Cay has.
