I’m not exaggerating when I say this: I am completely obsessed with San Fransokyo Street on the new Disney Adventure cruise ship.
When Disney Cruise Line dropped the first official photos of this area of the ship early Thursday morning, I did what any rational Disney fan would do. I stared at them for an embarrassingly long time. Zoomed in. Scrolled back. Zoomed in again. And then immediately wished I could teleport myself onto the ship.
Because this area looks incredible.

If you’ve ever spent time wandering through San Fransokyo Square inside Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort, you already know the vibe. Lanterns strung overhead. Neon signs glowing in the evening. The playful mash-up of Japanese and San Francisco architecture. It’s colorful, energetic, and packed with personality.

And somehow, Disney Imagineers have managed to bring that same energy onto a cruise ship.

San Fransokyo Street aboard the Disney Adventure looks like a fully realized neighborhood at sea. The lantern lighting alone makes the whole space feel warm and inviting, and the storefront-style design gives it that “city block” feel that makes you want to wander around and explore every corner.

Honestly, it’s the kind of space that feels like it was designed for exactly what cruise ships do best: letting guests discover something new every time they pass through.

The thing that makes this even more exciting for me is how much I love the land that inspired it. The more times I visit San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure, the higher it moves on the list of my favorite places in the park. There’s something about the mix of Big Hero 6 charm and bustling street atmosphere that just works.

So seeing that concept expanded into a whole themed area on a cruise ship? Yeah, I’m all in.

There is just one small problem.
The Disney Adventure is homeporting in Singapore.
Which is… you know… roughly halfway around the world from where I’m sitting right now.
So now I’m faced with a very serious dilemma. Do I admire these gorgeous photos from afar and accept my fate? Or do I start plotting the most elaborate Disney Cruise Line trip of my life just so I can wander through San Fransokyo Street in person?
Let’s be honest. If you’re a Disney fan, you already know the answer to that question.
Because when Imagineering creates something this visually stunning, it’s only a matter of time before we all start figuring out how to get there.
And if these photos are any indication, San Fransokyo Street might just become one of the most unique spaces Disney Cruise Line has ever built.
Which means I probably need to start looking at flights to Singapore. You know, for research. At least there’s a direct flight from Seattle. We won’t discuss that it’s 16 to 17 hours long.
