Hey Disney Cruise friends! Well, Disney is having a little fun with us this week, and I am very much here for it. Rather than simply handing us all the details about the newest Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Believe, they’ve kicked off a three-day scavenger hunt aboard the Disney Wish, with a group of media and content creators working their way through a series of puzzles and clues. I’ve been following along with the details as they come through, and there are already some pretty interesting pieces of the puzzle emerging.
The first clue gives us something that feels very Disney Cruise Line behind-the-scenes: the ship’s hull number. The teams were sent through their first challenge in Luna aboard the Disney Wish, where they eventually uncovered the number 723. That’s the Disney Believe’s hull designation at Meyer Werft Shipyard, where the ship is under construction. I always find these little construction details fascinating because Disney has a habit of taking numbers and references that might seem completely ordinary to the rest of us and turning them into hidden pieces of the story. And this one came with an even bigger update.

Natacha Rafalski, president of Disney Signature Experiences, revealed that Disney Believe has now reached its keel-laying milestone, which is a pretty significant moment in the life of a new ship. As part of the maritime tradition, a specially created Tinker Bell coin was welded into the ship’s keel block, bringing a little Disney good luck along for the journey. Somewhere out there, Disney Imagineering is building the next piece of the fleet, and I am already wondering where these little details will eventually show up once we can actually step aboard.
But apparently Disney wasn’t finished teasing us yet. The scavenger hunt continued with a series of porthole puzzles aboard the Disney Wish, with clues leading participants through everything from Disney characters and emotions to songs from The Little Mermaid. One challenge involving lyrics from ‘Under the Sea,’ ‘Kiss the Girl,’ ‘Part of Your World,’ and ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’ eventually pointed the group toward Nightingale’s, the piano bar aboard the Wish. And here’s where things get particularly interesting for those of us watching from the sidelines: the puzzles aren’t just revealing answers. Each one is also offering a preview of a new food or beverage item coming to the Disney Believe. Disney hasn’t revealed exactly how these new offerings will connect to the ship just yet, but the scavenger hunt suggests they could provide clues connected to venues, entertainment, characters, or something else entirely.

And, of course, there is a very good reason to keep watching because the big reveal is coming Wednesday, October 7th, at 4:30 p.m. ET. Disney will be sharing the official details about the Disney Believe during a livestream across the Disney Parks social channels, including the ship’s homeport, itineraries, themed venues, and entertainment. I have a feeling that once Disney puts all of its clues on the table, we’re going to have a much better idea of what they have been cooking up for this exciting next chapter of Disney Cruise Line.
