Disney Cruise Line’s Halloween Trees are one of my favorite parts of Halloween on the High Seas, and the newest member of the fleet finally has one of her own! Disney has revealed Solara, the brand-new Pumpkin Tree now standing inside the Grand Hall aboard the Disney Destiny.
And would you just look at her?!
Solara is completely different from the gnarly, traditionally spooky trees you might remember from some of Disney Cruise Line’s older ships. Her trunk forms the figure of a woman, with enormous branches stretching high into the Grand Hall and glowing pumpkins hanging throughout. Twisting vines, colorful leaves, and smaller details appear everywhere you look, and the purple, orange, and green lighting surrounding her makes the whole scene even more dramatic.
The Disney Destiny is celebrating Halloween on the High Seas for the first time in 2026, joining the Disney Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, Wish, and Treasure for select Halloween sailings. Did you know that every ship’s Pumpkin Tree has its own name, personality, and story, making these much more than another piece of seasonal décor?
If you’ve never paid much attention to the trees before, Chloé put together a fantastic look at all of the Disney Cruise Line Halloween Trees and the stories behind them last year.
The four original ships have Reap aboard the Disney Magic, Bog on the Disney Wonder, Grim on the Disney Dream, and Muckelbones on the Disney Fantasy. Those trees were inspired by the spirit of Ray Bradbury’s The Halloween Tree. Then there’s Boo aboard the Disney Wish, whose story connects to the Wishing Star and Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage, and Ginger aboard the Disney Treasure, who hails from Agrabah with pumpkins inspired by Genie’s transformations.
And now we have Solara aboard the Disney Destiny.
Disney hasn’t shared Solara’s full backstory yet, and that’s the part I can’t wait to hear. With the Destiny built around a heroes-and-villains theme, there are all sorts of directions Disney could take her story, but for now, I’m not even going to try to guess – although in DCL’s social media post, they asked followers if they thought she was “silly or spooky” and said they’d let readers decide. We’ll be watching for Disney Cruise Line to reveal the tale behind its newest Pumpkin Tree as the Destiny begins her first Halloween on the High Seas sailings.
Until then, Solara has certainly made herself at home in the Grand Hall. Between her enormous outstretched branches, glowing pumpkins, and the way she looks underneath the ship’s chandelier, she’s definitely going to make a popular photo backdrop.
