I think I’m safe to say that most Disney fans have a favorite artist whose designs make our hearts sing almost every time we see a new piece from them. That’s how I feel about Disney Artist Joey Choü. The bright, colorful, and whimsical way that some of my most favorite characters are portrayed in his work makes every piece from him stand out.
During one of the at-sea days on my last cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy, I spent some extra time in Mickey’s Mainsail, ensuring I laid eyes on every piece of available merchandise. Much to my surprise, this gorgeous ceramic ornament practically jumped off its little hanger and into my hand! Well, not actually, but it was 100% coming home with me.
Priced at $19.99, I *may* have been able to avoid temptation, but at a clearance price of $7.99? Let’s just say my wallet didn’t stand a chance. Did you know that if you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member, you get a 10% discount on select merchandise onboard Disney Cruise Line ships? I don’t think I needed another reason to make that purchase, but nonetheless, there it was.
I typically try to stick with small (in size) purchases during a cruise so I don’t have too much to carry off the ship and onto my next destination. When I saw what was waiting for me on the other side of the shelves, I immediately knew that resisting temptation was entirely out the window with this beautiful, matted print of the same design. I couldn’t believe that it was priced at $19.99 from $55 – that’s a whopping $36 savings!
There isn’t a clearance section – these items are mixed in with the regular merchandise. This is the first time I’ve ever seen clearance-priced merchandise aboard a Disney cruise, so I’ll be paying close attention to the shops from now on. Have you ever scored a clearance item on a Disney ship?
