The Oriental Land Company (OLC) has officially announced the name of its upcoming Tokyo-based Disney cruise ship – the Disney Imagination! The Disney Imagination is expected to sail from Tokyo in spring 2029. In the announcement, OLC also shared concept art of the stern featuring Princess Ariel and Sebastian! This is the first time Ariel has been the character on the back of the ship and the image shows Ariel painting “Disney Imagination”.

The Disney Imagination will be the fifth and final Wish class ship and part of the biggest expansion in DCL history. The Wish class began with the Disney Wish in 2022 followed by the Treasure, Destiny, and the upcoming Believe in late 2027. This class of ship has a nearly identical layout and is the largest class of ships in Disney’s fleet. The Imagination will be the Oriental Land Company’s first cruise ship and the first Disney ship to sail from Japan.

If you’re not familiar with the Oriental Land Company, the Japanese travel and leisure company owns and operates the Tokyo Disney Resort. The successful partnership between OLC and Disney has brought fans some of the most immersive lands, technologically advanced attractions, and arguably the best Disney park in the world; Tokyo Disney Sea. For Disney Cruise Line fans, a Tokyo Disney style ship has the potential to be a dream come true.
