Did you hear that THWIP? To round out this week’s Disney Destiny announcements including a new Lion King dining experience, an Edna Mode sweets shop, bar and lounge themes, café themes, plus a sneak peek at the staterooms, Disney Cruise Line has unveiled all the MARVEL-ous details coming to their heroes and villains-themed ship.
The Disney Destiny will be home to new spaces and experiences inspired by Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Tony Stark and the Avengers, in addition to some returning favorite elements carried over from the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. Plus, we finally have a look at the Destiny’s stern and beautiful atrium, both featuring two iconic Marvel Super Heroes!
Your Friendly Neighborhood [Stern Character]
For the first time in DCL history, a Marvel Super Hero will be the signature stern character on the Disney Destiny. The larger-than-life sculpture of Spider-Man alongside some Spider-Bots will decorate the filigree on the back of the ship with their spider webs.
The Grand Hall: Wakanda Forever
The Grand Hall is the ship’s most prominent gathering space, welcoming you to a world of epic dualities: heroes and villains, adventure and relaxation. Inspired by the rich lore, distinctive style, and vibrant palette of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther films, the Grand Hall will be Disney Cruise Line’s kingdom on the seas.
A stunning statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther: King of Wakanda, will preside over the Grand Hall.
Just off the Grand Hall on decks four and five, another space will be inspired by the architecture of Wakanda: Saga will act as the central hub for daytime family activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment. The two-story venue will host a variety of interactive shows and events (think Luna on the Disney Wish).
Strange Libations
The Sanctum will be Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange. This centrally-located venue will contain mystical items designed to aid sorcerers in protecting the world – and will also be home to entertainment; a magical array or cocktails, spirits and coffees; and unique surprises from Doctor Strange’s New York Sanctum.
Luxury Stark Suite
The Destiny Tower Suite will be a Marvel-inspired penthouse honoring Iron Man with a luxurious take on the sleek, industrial designs of Tony Stark. Set high in the ship’s forward funnel, this one-of-a-kind suite will offer incredible views of the top deck and beyond through an expansive two-story window and nearly 2,000 square feet of living space.
The Destiny Tower Suite and all concierge-level accommodations will receive a premium level of dedicated service and access to exclusive areas and amenities, including a private sun deck and the Concierge Lounge; outfitted with art celebrating the Avengers, and will be styled after their sophisticated Manhattan headquarters.
Worlds of Marvel Dining & Super Hero Academy Returns
Worlds of Marvel is back! For the Disney Destiny, the dining venue will host an out-of-this-world celebration starring Rocket and Groot from Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy films. During a tribute to the many Super Heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Groot takes over to organize a surprise party for Rocket. The story will unfold onscreen while you eat to the beat of an “awesome mix” of hit songs and test your knowledge of the Marvel Universe with trivia and activities.
In Disney’s Oceaneer Club, kids ages 3 to 10 will become the heroes of their own adventures at Marvel Super Hero Academy, a high-tech Avengers headquarters where young “recruits” are trained to be the next generation of Super Heroes alongside some of their favorite Avengers.
More Returning Favorites
In addition to all of the new offerings, the Disney Destiny will feature returning entertainment, themed venues and spaces carrying over from the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure.
- Broadway-style productions of “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” will take place in the Walt Disney Theatre.
- Pirate Night will include Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party, the nighttime spectacular featuring a live rock band and fireworks at sea.
- Hero Zone – a sports arena where your family can compete in The Incredibles-themed obstacle courses and free-play sports.
- Disney Uncharted Adventure will be an interactive experience that uses your mobile device to join favorite Disney and Pixar heroes on virtual quests throughout the ship.
- Watch first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and more at the Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas.
- The expansive upper-deck district themed to Mickey and friends, will include seven family pools staggered among tiered decks, an abundance of lounge chairs, an imaginative take on fast-casual fare with a festive character twist, and the AquaMouse.
- Adult-exclusive spaces will once again include Quiet Cove, Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, The Rose, Senses Spa, Senses Fitness, Untangled Salon, and Hook’s Barbery.
- Dedicated spaces for kids include:
- Disney’s Oceaneer Club, a wonderland of immersive spaces for 3-10 year-olds themed to Marvel Super Heroes, Disney princesses, Star Wars heroes, Disney Imagineers, and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
- It’s a Small World Nursery will offer babysitting services for little cruisers aged 6 months to 3 years in a whimsical environment inspired by the beloved Disney attraction.
- Edge tweens ages 11 to 13 will have fun, make friends and play games in a bright, colorful hangout inspired by a New York City loft.
- And for 14-17 year-olds, Vibe will be a trendy loft where teens can meet new friends, watch movies, play games and group activities.
- 1923 will be the ship’s third venue for nightly dining rotation, celebrating the legacy of Disney animation in an elegant Hollywood glamour setting, including more than 1,000 drawings and props on display. This time, the showcased films will include Hercules, Sleeping Beauty, Big Hero 6, Wreck-It Ralph, and more.
Let’s Sail Away!
The Disney Destiny will sail year-round from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida beginning in November 2025. The ship will embark on an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean, including visits to one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations: Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay.
