The Disney Treasure, the latest jewel in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, is filled with imaginative spaces, interactive storytelling, and exclusive experiences that bring Disney magic to life at sea. From lounges themed to favorite attractions and delicious dining menus to Broadway-caliber shows, this ship celebrates the spirit of adventure in just about every detail.
I recently returned from a 7-night sailing aboard Disney’s newest ship, and want to recommend a few activities and moments you won’t want to miss when you set sail! There really is SO much to do and take in, but here are a few of my favorites…
Book The ‘Imagineering the Disney Ships’ Tour
Don’t worry, it’s free! (Or shall I say included with your cruise fare?) If you’ve taken a Disney Cruise before, you’re probably familiar with the Art of the Theme Show Tour offered on the prior ships. This is where a Cast Member from the Entertainment team takes small groups across a few decks, pointing out details you may not have noticed before, and shares design info straight from Imagineering. The tour guide often shares their own favorite elements unique to that ship they’ve been working on, making it that much more personal (it’s all about building that rapport with your crew – especially on a 7-night sailing!).
The Treasure’s tour is very similar, and it really added to our experience on the ship after learning certain tidbits – especially concerning some artworks, lounges, and directional carpet details… there’s more than you think! You do need to reserve this tour via the DCL Navigator app, and it is offered several times during your voyage.
The “Heartbeat” Rotation in the Haunted Mansion Parlor
One of the most popular lounges about the Treasure is The Haunted Mansion Parlor – Disney’s first-ever Haunted Mansion–themed lounge. About time, right? We finally get to step inside and really take in the eerie elegance of one of our all-time favorite attractions.
Illusions and ghostly humor we know and love are found throughout. Most importantly, the parlor heavily pays homage to Rolly Crump, one of the founding fathers of the iconic attraction.
However, every few minutes, the parlor goes through an atmospheric rotation where the parlor seems to come alive. These include synchronizations to the song “Grim Grinning Ghosts” or Leota’s wind-chilled seance. But you don’t want to miss the heartbeat rotation, as a nod to the original Bride in the Attic scene. The pulsing red lights paired with cleverly synchronized effects speak to our historic Haunted Mansion-loving souls.
By the way, I can’t recommend the Chilling Challenge beverage enough… tart, salty, AND it comes with your own Death Certificate!
Okay, enough about The Haunted Mansion Parlor… for now.
Join the Interactive Jungle Cruise Game!
In the heart of the ship, the Grand Hall serves as a stage for entertainment, live music, and some surprises. One of the most immersive activities is The Jungle Cruise: An Interactive Story Adventure – you can watch or join in the witty adventure inspired by the beloved Disney Parks attraction.
Hosted by Coriander and Sage, your ship storytellers, the adventure is filled with puns, laughter, and a few surprising Jungle Cruise Easter eggs — it’s a must-do for anyone! Fun for kids and the young at heart alike, you’ll tap into your imagination while hunting for the backside of water, and avoiding killer creatures as you trek through a treacherous jungle (imagination, remember?). It’s definitely more fun to partake in this one versus watching from the sidelines. This activity is typically scheduled around 10pm halfway through the cruise. Just show up a few minutes before showtime to participate and board the skipper boat!

Come for The Tale of Moana, Stay for Beauty and the Beast
While The Tale of Moana makes waves as the Treasure’s new, ship-exclusive theatrical production, the Broadway-style version of Beauty and the Beast continues to shine as one of the ship’s crown jewels. Featuring lavish sets, impressive projection mapping throughout the theater, beautiful costumes, puppetry (!!) and timeless songs like “Gaston”, “Beauty & the Beast”, and “Be Our Guest” (performed with a circus twist!), this recently updated show truly captures the grandeur of the beloved tale. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it this time. Trust me, don’t skip it!
Treasure Found – A Bittersweet Farewell
As your voyage comes to an end, the Grand Hall comes alive one last time in the ‘Treasure Found’ farewell show. Packed with surprise character appearances, paired with emotional and upbeat Disney songs, this show tugs at your heartstrings while reminding us of the memories made during our time at sea. It’s the perfect finale, and will probably have you booking that placeholder for a future cruise if you hadn’t already.
Maybe the real Disney treasure is the memories made along the way.
