Disney Adventure Brings Toy Story Fun to the Upper Deck

Disney Cruise Line revealed colorful Toy Story-themed outdoor areas aboard the new Disney Adventure cruise ship, bringing playful Pixar fun to the upper deck.

When it comes to Disney Cruise Line ships, the upper decks are where a lot of the fun happens. Pools, splash zones, movies under the stars, soft-serve ice cream stops… it’s basically the heart of the ship during the day.

And on the brand-new Disney Adventure, that space received a colorful new makeover inspired by the world of Toy Story.

Disney has shared a look at the outdoor Toy Story-themed areas on board the ship, and they look exactly like what you’d hope for from a Pixar-inspired play space at sea. Bright colors, oversized toy details, playful character touches, and the kind of design that makes you feel like you’ve stepped right into the movies.

This isn’t the first time Disney Cruise Line has leaned into Toy Story for outdoor family areas. Guests who have sailed on ships like the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure will recognize the formula: vibrant spaces designed for kids to splash, climb, and burn off some energy while parents relax nearby.

But the Disney Adventure’s version looks particularly expansive.

From the photos Disney shared, the deck feels like one giant toy box brought to life. Guests can expect to see plenty of familiar faces from the Toy Story family throughout the area, along with colorful structures that look like they’ve been built from giant toy blocks and playset pieces.

It’s exactly the kind of environment that makes kids immediately want to run around and explore – which, let’s be honest, is half the goal of these deck spaces.

What I really like about the Toy Story theming is that it fits the outdoor setting perfectly. The films have always had this playful backyard energy to them, and that translates beautifully to a sunny pool deck on a cruise ship.

Perusing through the photos, you can easily imagine your little ones skipping between the splash features while you grab a drink or lounger nearby. Meanwhile, giant characters and toy-inspired decor give the whole space an immersive feeling without being overwhelming.

And while the indoor areas of the Disney Adventure are getting some wildly creative themes (looking at you, San Fransokyo Street), this Toy Story space feels like the perfect balance of fun and familiarity.

It’s cheerful. It’s colorful. It’s unmistakably Pixar.

It looks like a fun area where families will gather during the day – whether they’re cooling off in the water, watching a movie on the funnel screen, or just enjoying the sunshine between adventures around the ship.

With the Disney Adventure set to sail from Singapore, many Disney Cruise Line fans in North America may not see these spaces in person anytime soon. But judging by the photos Disney has released, the Toy Story-themed deck areas look like they’ll be a big hit for families lucky enough to hop aboard.

And honestly, the rest of the ship looks like tons of fun as well. The Disney Adventure might end up being one of the most visually playful ships in the entire fleet.
