‘No-Sail’ Order Extended by Months for All Cruise Ships Due to Coronavirus

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a modification and extension to the ‘no-sail’ order covering all cruise ships that originally went into effect on March 14, 2020 for 30-days.

Disney Cruise Line suspended all sailings through April 28; more than the 30-day requirement. We know that despite its best efforts, two Disney Cruise Line sailings on the Disney Wonder out of New Orleans were affected by Coronavirus.

In part, the CDC announcement reads:

This Order shall continue in operation until the earliest of three situations.

First, the expiration of the Secretary of Health and Human Services’ declaration that COVID-19 constitutes a public health emergency.

Second, the CDC Director rescinds or modifies the order based on specific public health or other considerations.

Or third, 100 days from the date of publication in the Federal Register.

You can view the entire announcement on the CDC website.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the Disney Wonder sailings to Alaska and Hawaii were canceled through the end of June.

If you have a cruise booked in the next 100 days, we recommend keeping a close eye out for any communication from the cruise line regarding the status of your sailing.
