If you’ve ever spoken to anyone who’s enjoyed brunch at Palo aboard a Disney cruise ship, you likely know that it’s one of the most beloved meals among DCL fans.

There are many restaurants on each Disney ship, so you won’t ever go hungry, but if you’re looking for a very special meal with exquisite views and delectable food, brunch at Palo is a not-to-be-missed experience.

First, let’s take a look at the brunch menu. As you can see, the menu has sections, but it is not a prix fixe menu like they offer at dinner where you can choose one item from each column. At brunch, you can choose as many dishes as you’d like for the same $45 price. Obviously, the price can change at any time, so be sure to check on the DCL Navigator app for the price that applies during your particular cruise.

The meal typically begins with a bread basket along with a selection of breakfast pastries that are simply delicious. It can be hard not to eat too much from these lovely baskets if you’re not careful, but I recommend being mindful of that and saving room for some of the main courses.

I always love starting brunch off with Antipasti and I switch between the seafood version and the regular version from time to time as I enjoy them both. When it’s just my husband and me, we order one of each and share them which is always fun.

I was in more of a breakfasty mood during this visit, so I ordered buttermilk pancakes first, which were absolutely delicious. That browned and slightly crisp edge around pancakes is my very favorite and these did not disappoint. I also love how they weren’t gigantic because there are way too many delicious items on the menu to sample to get filled up with pancakes.

Next, I ordered the Eggs Benedict. There is something about this dish at Palo that is just so special. The Hollandaise is so thick and rich that one is plenty as opposed to the two pieces that are served in most restaurants. If you’d rather have two, don’t hesitate to ask! I love the sprinkle of chives over the top.

By the time I was finished with my Eggs Benedict and a couple of cups of coffee, I was a bit more in the mood to have a lunch item. The Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Breast is usually my go-to, but I also absolutely love the Lasagna Bolognaise that’s served here; it’s the most delicious lasagna that I’ve ever had in any restaurant.

You might be noticing that the portion sizes aren’t terribly huge, and that is done on purpose here to allow guests to try more than just one or two options. In my opinion, the amount served in each dish is just perfect. Our server also brought one of each of the different Flatbreads on the menu for the seven people at our table to pass around and taste. Yes, flatbread is essentially pizza, but the ones served here at Palo are a step up from most. I didn’t snap photos of the flatbreads as they were each missing some slices by the time they were passed to me, but you can see them in the video at the bottom of this post.

Lastly, it was time for the dessert course. There are so many incredible desserts to choose from at Palo during brunch. I had the Warm Amaretto Chocolate Fondant served with Espresso Gelato – the gelato is my very favorite! The warm chocolate cake-like dessert with espresso gelato is just heavenly. Our server convinced me into trying the Raspberry Chocolate Crunch Tart as well because I’d mentioned that I couldn’t decide if I wanted to try something new. That’s the fun thing about dining on a Disney cruise ship – if you express interest in more than one item and can’t decide which one to choose, your server will typically bring you both. I do love raspberry and chocolate together and while this dessert was good, it wasn’t my very favorite thing ever, so I’ll probably try something new next time.
