If you’re preparing to sail on one of the upcoming UK sailings, or you’ve been waiting to get a feel for the new guidelines coming to the Disney Cruise Line ships in the days ahead, the updates made to the “know before you go“ section for the UK Staycation sailings may help to shed a bit of light on the subject.

Keep in mind that, at this point, these guidelines pertain only to the UK Staycation cruises aboard the Disney Magic. According to the Disney Cruise Line website, all guests wishing to sail who are 18 years of age and older must be “fully vaccinated as defined by the National Health Service“. Guests under the age of 18 must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken between “five days and 24 hours prior” to the date of your sailing. DCL has also worked with a third-party vendor to offer special discounted rates on PCR testing and will reach out to guests booked on the sailings prior to embarkation regarding the procedure for submitting their test results. Of course, guests may use any third-party vendor through which to obtain a PCR test.

All guests prior to embarkation (including guests who have been vaccinated) will be required to “undergo an antigen COVID-19 rapid test administered by a third-party in the terminal prior to boarding“. Guests who test positive will be submitted to a second test in order to verify the test results. The tests given at the terminal will be at the expense of Disney Cruise Line, and guests who test positive (including their traveling party) will not be allowed to board.

Guests will be asked to perform a temperature self-check before leaving home, and those with a temperature higher than 38°C will not be allowed to board. Guests will be asked to complete a health questionnaire on embarkation day that focuses on COVID-19 and gastrointestinal illnesses, and will also need to complete a daily health questionnaire in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for each guest in their stateroom. Guests will receive a push notification regarding the daily health questionnaire each day of their sailing. Crew members will also be screened for symptoms before each shift and will have their temperatures checked twice each day.

Physical distancing and reduced guest capacity will be adhered to on board. This will include all areas of the ship. Experiences that are complementary with each voyage, such as nightly performances in the theater, will need to be booked in advance. Close-proximity interactions with Disney characters will not take place, and youth activities will take place in small group settings.

All guests ages 11 and up must wear a face covering that can be secured with ear loops or ties while on the ship. Neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas and facial coverings utilizing the valves or mesh material will not be acceptable facial coverings.

We will continue to keep you updated as Disney Cruise Line releases additional information. Again, at this time, these guidelines and regulations pertain only to the Disney Magic at Sea UK Staycation cruises.
