Disney Cruise Line fans have a new reason to fire up Disney+.
Season 3 of Behind the Attraction is now streaming, and for the first time, the series is diving deep into the story of Disney Cruise Line. The special two-episode event explores both the history of the cruise line and the creation of Disney Destiny.
The first episode takes viewers back to the beginning of Disney Cruise Line, tracing its evolution from an ambitious idea into one of the most recognizable cruise brands in the world. Along the way, viewers will hear from the people who helped bring the original ships to life, including former Imagineer and Disney Legend Wing Chao, who led the design of the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.
According to Disney, the episode also takes a look at the engineering and design behind Disney’s ships, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how these floating vacation destinations are created.
The second episode shifts focus to the Disney Destiny, the next ship joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Inspired by the dynamic between Disney heroes and villains, the Destiny introduces a new storytelling theme that will be woven throughout the ship’s design, entertainment, dining, and guest experiences.
The episode follows the ship’s development from its earliest concepts through the Imagineering process, offering viewers a closer look at how Disney’s newest vessel came together.
Brian Volk-Weiss, founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company and executive producer and director of the series, shared his enthusiasm for telling Disney Cruise Line’s story.
“It has been the honor and utter joy of my career to work with Disney on Behind the Attraction,” Volk-Weiss said. “To be given the trust of Disney Cruise Line to tell their incredible story in season 3, alongside the brilliant Imagineers and crew, has been beyond anything I could have expected.”
He added that sailing aboard ships ranging from the Disney Magic to the Disney Destiny was one of the highlights of producing the new season.
Dany Garcia, executive producer of the series and co-founder and co-CEO of Seven Bucks Productions, also highlighted the role Disney Cruise Line has played in creating family memories.
“Disney Cruise Line is a remarkable example of that vision,” Garcia said. “This season shines a light on the innovation and craftsmanship that have made those moments possible for families across generations.”
For longtime cruisers, the new episodes offer a chance to learn more about the ships they know and love. For those curious about the upcoming Disney Destiny, the series also provides an early look at the newest chapter in Disney Cruise Line’s ongoing expansion.
Both episodes of Behind the Attraction are now available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
