Disney Cruise Line has shared an official first look at the Moana-inspired Grand Hall aboard the Disney Believe, and the newly revealed concept art gives us a much better idea of what guests can expect when they step onboard. We already knew that Moana would inspire the ship’s central gathering space, but today’s reveal shows how Imagineers are bringing the film’s connection to the ocean, the stars, and the Pacific Islands into the design.
And that chandelier! It’s going to be quite a sight.
The Grand Hall will feature a sweeping, ocean-inspired design, with shades of blue flowing across the carpeting and into the surrounding architecture. Above, a deep blue ceiling will be filled with constellations and twinkling stars, reflecting the importance of celestial navigation in Moana’s story.
At the center of it all is an enormous chandelier that appears to capture the ocean in motion. Swirling shades of blue and turquoise create the look of a wave suspended overhead, surrounded by sparkling lights. Disney has also confirmed that the Heart of Te Fiti will be hidden within the chandelier, giving guests something special to search for when they board.

The concept art also reveals a beautiful golden statue of Moana standing confidently with her paddle, accompanied by Pua and surrounded by tropical greenery. It’s positioned near the sweeping staircase, where guests will undoubtedly want to stop for a photo.
Look closely at the upper levels, too. The railings feature decorative patterns inspired by the designs on Moana’s skirt, another thoughtful detail that connects the architecture to the film. Curving balconies overlook the Grand Hall, while the walls incorporate wave-like textures that continue the ocean theme throughout the space.
On the opposite side of the hall, the concept art shows a large stage framed by a dramatic archway. Performers appear beneath colorful curtains, while another decorative display sits above the stage. The illustration offers a glimpse of how the Grand Hall could be used for character appearances and entertainment throughout a sailing, although Disney hasn’t announced specific programming for the space.
What I particularly love about this design is how the ocean theme carries through nearly every part of the room without making the Grand Hall look like a recreation of a specific scene from the movie. The colors, architectural details, and enormous chandelier all work together to create something that feels distinctly inspired by Moana.

The Disney Believe will depart on its maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale on December 18, 2027, followed by 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and the Caribbean. Bookings open October 19, 2026.
