If you’ve used a copy of your birth certificate to board your Disney cruise ship in the past, an important update has taken effect that you should be aware of.

Disney Cruise Line now requires passengers who choose to provide their birth certificates as travel documents to bring an original; photocopies will no longer be accepted. Hospital-issued birth certificates are also not acceptable.

If you don’t have an original copy of your birth certificate, most states offer an easy way to order one online, for a fee. If you need to order yours, be sure to allow plenty of time before your embarkation date.
