There’s some good news for Platinum and Pearl Castaway Club members who already had Palo brunch reservations booked before Disney Cruise Line announced changes to its complimentary dining benefit.
Following guest feedback about the change, Disney Cruise Line is reportedly honoring the $55 dining credit for eligible guests who booked Palo Brunch, Palo Steakhouse Brunch, or Palo Trattoria Brunch before October 15, 2026.
The clarification comes after Disney recently announced that the complimentary Palo dining benefit for Platinum and Pearl Castaway Club members would apply to dinner rather than brunch. That left some longtime cruisers wondering what would happen to the brunch reservations they’d already made, particularly those who booked months before the change was announced.
What Disney Cruise Line Is Telling Guests
According to an email response from Disney Cruise Line’s Shoreside Guest Services shared by a guest, the cruise line will honor the existing $55 credit for qualifying brunch reservations made before the October 15 cutoff.
The response also explains that although complimentary brunch has sometimes been offered to eligible Castaway Club members in the past, Disney considered it an exception rather than a guaranteed part of the benefit.
That’s an important distinction, especially for guests who have enjoyed using their Castaway Club benefit for brunch on previous cruises.
The email indicates that guests with qualifying reservations can still receive their credit on an upcoming sailing. However, the response also notes that onboard teams handle brunch accommodations based on availability.
What Should Guests With Existing Reservations Do?
If you’re a Platinum or Pearl Castaway Club member with a Palo brunch reservation made before October 15, it’s worth contacting Disney Cruise Line’s Shoreside Guest Services to confirm whether your reservation qualifies.
If you receive written confirmation that your dining credit will be honored, keep a copy of that email handy when you sail. Having that documentation available could help should any questions arise once you’re onboard.
It’s also important to remember that this reported accommodation applies to previously booked reservations. It doesn’t mean that complimentary brunch has been restored as an ongoing Castaway Club benefit.
A Welcome Clarification for Longtime Disney Cruisers
I’m glad to see Disney Cruise Line reportedly making an accommodation for guests who booked their brunch reservations before learning about the change. When you’ve planned your cruise around a benefit you’ve enjoyed for years, it’s frustrating to have the rules change after you’ve already made your plans.
The October 15 cutoff certainly gives guests a better picture of where they stand individually, but I’d rather see Disney Cruise Line communicate this directly to all eligible guests rather than leaving them to reach out for their own clarification.
For now, if you’ve already booked Palo brunch and believe you qualify, I’d recommend getting confirmation in writing before your cruise.
We’ll keep watching for any additional clarification from Disney Cruise Line about how these changes will be handled.
