Disney Cruise Line appears to be getting ready to reveal its next batch of itineraries, and instead of simply telling us what’s coming, they’ve decided to make us work for it!

A mysterious image shared by Disney Cruise Line features six different latitudes floating above an illustration of a Disney cruise ship. There’s no explanation of what the numbers mean, but it doesn’t take long to connect them to some very familiar Disney Cruise Line homeports. Disney is reportedly teasing an announcement for August 25, so we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out exactly what they have planned.

Before we start decoding everything, this is also a good time for our usual reminder: if these new itineraries have you thinking about booking a Disney cruise, Dreams Unlimited Travel offers a shipboard credit when you book with them based on the total price of your cruise, including taxes and port fees. That means some extra spending money waiting for you onboard, and who doesn’t love that? You’ll also receive our exclusive gift basket filled to the brim with great items to use during your cruise!

Let’s Decode Those Disney Cruise Line Coordinates

Technically, Disney hasn’t given us complete coordinates. Each number in the teaser is a latitude only, without the corresponding longitude. Still, each one lines up closely with a current or former Disney Cruise Line departure port, and the cruise community wasted approximately zero minutes figuring them out.

Here’s what we’ve got:

  • 40° 46.3′ N – New York City, New York
  • 18° 27′ N – San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • 29° 18.2′ N – Galveston, Texas
  • 32° 43.3′ N – San Diego, California
  • 26° 5.4′ N – Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • 28° 24′ N – Port Canaveral, Florida

That first one certainly got our attention.

New York City!

Disney Cruise Line hasn’t been sailing from New York in recent years, so its inclusion in this teaser immediately raises the possibility that Disney ships could be returning to the Big Apple. And judging by the reaction from Disney Cruise fans online, we’re definitely not the only ones hoping that’s exactly what this means.

San Juan is another intriguing inclusion, while Galveston, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale, and Port Canaveral are all familiar territory for Disney Cruise Line.

Disney currently has a fleet large enough to give us plenty to speculate about, too. With the Disney Wish, Treasure, Destiny, Adventure, Fantasy, Dream, Wonder, and Magic all in the picture, the possibilities for future deployments have become much more interesting than they were when Disney was operating a much smaller fleet.

But Disney Is Hiding Another Port!

Now comes the fun part.

Take another look at Disney’s teaser. These six latitudes aren’t telling us everything; they are intentionally leaving something out.

Disney Cruise Line fans are already doing exactly what Disney presumably hoped they would do: dissecting the image, comparing ports, looking at ship deployments, and wondering whether there’s another surprise waiting in the actual announcement.

Disney’s official website is already promoting new Summer 2027 itineraries, but this teaser suggests there’s more itinerary news coming.

Could New York finally be returning as a Disney Cruise Line homeport? What ships will be assigned to each location? And are these six ports the entire story?

We’ll find out soon enough, so be sure to stay tuned. In the meantime, start speculating! Take another look at those locations and tell us what you think Disney Cruise Line has up its sleeve.
