In light of the announcement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on April 9th along with Disney Cruise Line’s announcement on April 10th advising the cancellation of all Dream and Fantasy departures through May 17 and Disney Magic departures through June 7, our travel agents at Dreams Unlimited Travel would like you to be aware of some important information in regards to canceling your cruise.
Given the current situation, Disney Cruise Line is offering temporary adjustments to their cancellation policy to provide more flexibility. These adjustments may continue to evolve as more information becomes available.
- If you cancel your Disney Cruise Line vacation and are expecting a refund, Disney Cruise Line is saying these can take up to 90-days to process. There is nothing Dreams Unlimited Travel can do to expedite that, it’s in Disney’s hands.
- Refunds will go back to the original form of payment you used originally. So, if you used multiple credit cards and/or gift cards, that is where your credit(s) will be returned to from Disney.
- Monies will be refunded as you applied/paid them. If you made multiple payments, the refunds will be applied in the same manner you paid and on the same timeline (i.e. you will get your deposit back first, then any interim payments, then your balance). In other words, not a lump sum payment for all monies paid thus far.
- Your Future Cruise Credit (FCC) is based on the cruise fare, not the total you paid for the cruise. Taxes, fees, port charges etc will be refunded. The FCC is on the cruise fare only.
Guests with scheduled departures on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy between May 18 and May 31, 2020 can change their reservation up until the day before embarkation and receive a 100% FCC to be used for a future sailing within 15-months of their original sail date. The credit is non-refundable and standard prevailing rates will apply. Guests who booked their reservation through a travel agent should contact them directly. Those who booked with Disney Cruise Line can call them at (866) 325-2112 or (407) 566-3510.
The information above is accurate as of Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Please note that this information and Disney policy can change at any time for any reason; with or without notice. This article will be updated at the top with any new details that we receive.
