We’ve been following every breadcrumb Disney Cruise Line has dropped about the Disney Believe, and now we finally have two of the biggest details we’ve been waiting for: where the ship will sail from and when guests can officially step aboard. The Disney Believe will set sail on its maiden voyage on December 18, 2027, beginning its inaugural season from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Following the maiden voyage, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship will sail a series of 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale. It’s a fitting home for the newest addition to the fleet, giving Disney Cruise Line another ship sailing from South Florida and offering relatively short itineraries for guests who want to experience everything that’s coming aboard the Believe.
We’ve learned quite a bit about this ship over the last several weeks, but today’s announcement starts filling in the part that matters most for anyone hoping to actually sail on it.
The Disney Believe is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The ship recently reached its keel-laying milestone, where a specially minted Tinker Bell coin was placed beneath the keel as part of a longtime maritime tradition. Tinker Bell will also have a prominent place aboard the finished ship, with artwork of the beloved fairy set to grace the bow.
Disney has also teased that the Believe will feature new venues and entertainment inspired by Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid. We’ve been waiting to see how those stories will come together aboard the final ship in Disney Cruise Line’s Wish class, and now we know exactly when that story will begin.
December 18, 2027. Mark that one on the calendar!
We’ll have much more from today’s Disney Believe presentation, including all of the newly announced experiences and details coming to the ship.
