Okay, Disney Cruise Line fans, I need you to see this one because I am completely obsessed. A fan-created Disney Cruise Ship model has made its way onto LEGO Ideas, and at the time of this post, more than 2,000 supporters have already backed the project. I have a feeling quite a few DCL Fan readers will want to add their names to that list.
The proposed LEGO set takes its inspiration from Disney Cruise Line’s Dream Class ships, and the resemblance is pretty fantastic. The builder recreated that instantly recognizable black, white, red, and yellow exterior, along with the two red funnels and rows of yellow lifeboats. Look a little closer and you’ll find some of the details that really make the model fun, including the AquaDuck stretching between the funnels.

There’s plenty happening up on the top decks, too. The photos show pool areas, open deck space, radar equipment, and other small touches that help capture the look of a Disney ship. The creator says one of the biggest challenges was getting the ship’s overall silhouette right, particularly the curves of the bow and the proportions of the superstructure. I’d say they nailed it.

What I especially love about this idea is that there really isn’t anything quite like it in the current LEGO Disney lineup. We’ve had elaborate sets celebrating the Disney theme parks and movies, but Disney Cruise Line deserves some LEGO love, too. For those of us who have spent so much of our precious vacation time aboard these ships, there’s something very cool about the thought of building one and putting it on display at home.

And yes, I would absolutely buy this.

Of course, appearing on LEGO Ideas doesn’t mean the Disney Cruise Ship will automatically become an official set. Projects need to build enough support to move through the LEGO Ideas process and potentially be considered for production. But getting more than 2,000 supporters is certainly a start.
If you’d like to see this Disney Cruise Ship become a real LEGO set someday, head over to LEGO Ideas and give the project your support. I already know exactly where I’d put mine.
