When preparing for your Disney Cruise Line vacation, it is essential to gather and present the proper travel documentation at check-in. Failure to provide the required documents may result in denial of boarding, so it is important to review these guidelines thoroughly and prepare in advance. You don’t want to be standing there in the terminal while the rest of your traveling party boards the ship.

All guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line must present valid proof of citizenship when checking in, even if they uploaded the document during the online check-in process. For most international cruises, a valid passport is required. This applies to all travelers, regardless of age. U.S. citizens traveling by air to or from a foreign country are required by U.S. law to have a passport. Even if the cruise begins and ends in a U.S. port, a passport is strongly recommended. In many cases, it is the only accepted document for reentry to the United States or entry into foreign ports.

In addition to a passport, certain destinations on your Disney Cruise Line itinerary may require an entry visa. Visa requirements depend on your nationality and the specific countries included in your cruise. It is your responsibility to research and secure all necessary visas before your cruise begins. Requirements may vary by country and change without notice, so it is strongly advised that you contact the consulate or embassy of each destination well in advance of your departure date to confirm what documents are necessary.

The guest who booked the Disney Cruise Line reservation must also bring the Port Arrival Form, which is generated during Online Check-In. Online Check-In becomes available 30 days prior to your sailing and can be accessed through My Reservations on the Disney Cruise Line website or through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. The Port Arrival Form must be printed and presented at the port to complete the check-in process. Alternatively, you will be given the option to save it digitally in the Mobile Wallet on your cell phone, making it a breeze at the terminal, as the cast members will be able to scan the QR code and see everything they need on the Port Arrival Form. Be sure all required fields on your Guest Information Form are accurate and complete before finalizing your check-in. This is what the form will look like in your Mobile Wallet.

If a guest under the age of 18 is traveling without a parent or legal guardian (such as a grandparent), the adult accompanying that minor must present a completed and signed Authorization for Minor to Travel Without a Parent or Legal Guardian Form at check-in. This form must be filled out by the child’s parent or legal guardian and must include contact information and travel details. Without this documentation, the minor may be denied boarding.

Additional travel documentation may be required based on the departure port or the nationality of the guest. For cruises originating outside the United States, or for non-U.S. citizens, check for country-specific entry or departure requirements. In all cases, it is the guest’s responsibility to confirm and obtain the necessary documents before traveling.

Disney Cruise Line recommends that your passport remain valid for at least 6 months after your cruise. Many countries enforce this requirement to ensure smooth entry and exit from their territory. If your passport is near its expiration date, it is advisable to renew it before your trip begins.

To avoid delays, apply for a passport well in advance. The processing time can vary depending on your location and application method. U.S. citizens may visit the official U.S. Department of State travel website or contact the National Passport Information Center by calling 877-487-2778 for updated information, forms, and processing times. Limited services may be available for expedited passport applications.

All documentation, including passports, visas, port arrival forms, and minor consent forms, should be kept together in an accessible location when you arrive at the port. Have these ready prior to entering the terminal check-in area to ensure a smooth boarding process.

You can find more information regarding travel documentation requirements under the “Passports, Visas & Citizenship Documentation” section within your My Reservations page. It is also recommended that you consult your travel agent or the relevant government agency for the latest updates on travel document requirements for all ports of call on your itinerary.

Travel restrictions and documentation requirements vary based on your citizenship and the countries your Disney Cruise Line itinerary includes. Plan ahead, verify requirements, and ensure that all your documents are valid and available well before your departure date. Preparing in advance will help ensure a seamless and efficient check-in experience as you begin your Disney Cruise Line vacation.
