There’s something about Pegasus in Disney’s Hercules, that has always felt larger than life, and aboard Disney Destiny, that energy really comes through.
Pegasus has always been one of my favorite parts of Disney’s Hercules, and after sailing aboard Disney Destiny, I’m convinced he’s the true star of the Hercules-themed staterooms. He also plays a major role in the new Disney Hercules stage show onboard, but it was the artwork in my room that really sealed the deal for me.
In the original Hercules, Pegasus is powerful, booming, and larger than life, but he’s also warm, loving, and a little goofy. He’s the one who claps too hard, laughs too loud, and never quite realizes how much space he takes up. That mix of authority and heart is what makes him memorable. He isn’t distant or intimidating. He’s joyful, expressive, and deeply emotional, yet always providing comedy relief.

That exact energy shows up in the stateroom artwork. Pegasus isn’t posed stiffly or stoically. He looks alive. There’s movement, confidence, and personality in the piece, as if he’s mid-laugh. It feels like you’ve been welcomed into a celebration, and falls perfectly in line with who Pegasus is supposed to be. Every time I walked back into the room, the artwork made me smile. It felt intentional and character-driven, not like decorative filler.

Pegasus also plays a big part in the brand-new Hercules stage show onboard Disney Destiny. Just like in the original film, he adds humor and emotional weight to the story. He guides Hercules and adds levity when things get heavy. His scenes balance spectacle with heart, mirroring how he functions in the original animated movie.
What I loved most is how consistent Pegasus feels across the experience. The show version and the stateroom artwork both honor the same character traits. Big personality. Bigger heart. Confident without being cold. For me, Pegasus may not define the entire ship, but in the Hercules-themed spaces, he absolutely steals the spotlight.
Don’t miss this new stage show if you sail on the Disney Destiny. Often, Disney Cruise Line adds a matinee showing of its most popular shows to ensure every guest on board has the opportunity to see them. Check in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app during your sailing for showtimes.
