Disney Cruise Line has announced new details on a brand-new dining experience coming exclusively to the Disney Destiny: Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, a rotational restaurant inspired by the music, storytelling, and vibrant culture of The Lion King. The dining venue will debut when the heroes-and-villains themed Disney Destiny begins sailing later this month.
Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King will bring guests into the heart of the African savannah from the moment they arrive. The entry hall will guide guests into a stylized boma, a traditional gathering place where communities come together to share food, music, and stories. The main dining room will be surrounded by artistic lighting, silhouettes of wildlife, and an imaginative wall of magical windows displaying ever-changing sunrises and sunsets. Throughout the space, environmental design cues will echo the sweeping landscapes from the animated classic.
The centerpiece of the venue is a tiered performance stage inspired by layered African drums. Here, live musicians, singers, and storytellers will perform throughout dinner. Guests will hear familiar songs from The Lion King reimagined with authentic African instruments and arrangements. The performance lineup will include favorites such as Circle of Life and Hakuna Matata, alongside an upbeat mash-up of I Just Can’t Wait to Be King and Be Prepared that highlights the hero-versus-villain theme central to the ship. The experience also features a dance interpretation set to Can You Feel the Love Tonight and a powerful performance of He Lives in You, honoring the film’s legacy on Broadway.
The restaurant’s menu will blend Disney Cruise Line’s signature family-friendly dining with African culinary influences. Dishes will incorporate regional spices, grains, sauces, and produce, offering guests a flavorful and approachable introduction to the cuisine. Longer sailings will include a second themed menu, giving returning diners a fresh experience.
