Is Disney Cruise Line Opening Palo Dining to Children?

Disney Cruise Line is making a surprising change to one of its signature specialty dining experiences, and this time, even younger children are getting an invitation!

We’ve received information about an upcoming Disney Adventure sailing departing December 28, 2026, where Palo Trattoria will welcome guests of all ages. We’ve also learned that Disney plans to offer the same arrangement on another sailing in February 2027, suggesting this isn’t simply a one-time exception.

While Palo Trattoria already welcomes guests ages 10 and older, Disney is now extending that experience to children as young as three on select sailings.

Here’s what Disney shared in an email:

“As part of our continued efforts to create more ways for families to enjoy Palo together, we are delighted to share that Guests of all ages can dine together during this sailing.

During this sailing, children ages three to 12 will be able to enjoy Palo’s brunch offerings at a special rate, while an a la carte kid’s menu is also available upon request for dinner reservations.”

Disney hasn’t shared the special brunch pricing, and we don’t yet know how many additional sailings will offer this option.

What Could This Mean for Palo on Other Disney Cruise Ships?

Traditionally, Palo has been one of Disney Cruise Line’s premium adults-only dining experiences, reserved for guests ages 18 and older since the cruise line debuted in 1998.

However, the Disney Adventure already introduced a different policy with Palo Trattoria, allowing guests ages 10 and older to dine there. Now, they’re opening the doors to even younger children on multiple voyages.

Has Disney received requests from Adventure guests who want to bring their entire families to Palo? Are dining preferences among guests sailing from Singapore influencing the decision? Or is Disney exploring whether a more family-friendly version of Palo could work elsewhere? Disney hasn’t explained the reasoning or announced any changes to Palo’s adults-only policies aboard other ships.

Personally, I love that Disney Cruise Line offers so many wonderful dining experiences for families while keeping a few restaurants exclusively for adults. Palo has always been a favorite for a quieter meal, especially brunch, and I’d hate to see that tradition disappear across the fleet.

Would you like to see Palo welcome younger guests on other Disney ships, or should Disney keep those restaurants adults-only?
