Disney Cruise Line Reports Man Overboard On Disney Wish Ship Tuesday Night

Jackie Gailey

UPDATE: At just after 11 pm Eastern, poster @stkgator on the DISBoards thread linked below, shared the following message from onboard the Disney Wish: “The captain just announced that all crew and guests have been accounted for and the search is being canceled!”

We are so happy to hear that everyone onboard the Disney Wish is present and accounted for. We hope that the person who went overboard, possibly from another ship in the area, is found and returned safely.

There have been several reports from posters on the Disney Cruise Line discussion forum at DISboards.com that an audible “man overboard” call was made onboard the Disney Wish.

The original poster of the thread is currently onboard the ship and states that they left Nassau at around 5:30 pm local time, heading toward Castaway Cay. The “man overboard” call was at around 8 pm local time. The poster states that the ship turned around, and as of the time of this post, the rescue boat is still in the water searching the area.

According to the most recent update in the thread, the Wish is located approximately 15 miles north of Nassau.

This is a developing story and updates will be posted at the top as we receive new information.
