No need to speculate about The Haunted Mansion bar coming to the Disney Treasure because it’s now official! The Haunted Mansion Parlor will debut with the newest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet in December 2024. This project has been in the works for over three years at this point and is built on the passion Walt Disney Imagineering has for The Haunted Mansion. The goal of the space was to capture the authenticity and nostalgia of the attraction while bringing something new to the whole experience.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor will be occupying space right off of the Grand Hall where the Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge is located on the Disney Wish. All of the Haunted Mansions around the world were looked at, and the most iconic pieces were selected to bring to Disney Cruise Line with the addition of nautical twists. Even Rolly Crump’s Museum of the Weird sketches were utilized as inspiration for the lounge. At the same time, they are considering it a first-class parlor inspired by original cruise liners from the early 1900s.
Little hidden details will be everywhere from the iconic wallpaper throughout the room to the carpet having eyes staring back at you. The hidden Donald chair is shown off in the concept art to make an appearance in the bar. Even the door and entrance are lifted directly from the ride.
The bar experience is designed to be thirty minutes in length, but you can stay as long as you want. Original music was composed for the parlor which has a story structure similar to the attraction. The story goes you are attending the funeral of the captain character created for the parlor and ghosts are also attending. You’ll hear funeral-style music and the Ghost Host but it all goes into limbo as the ghosts are trying to materialize but they can’t until Madame Leota leads a seance. After the seance works, the ghosts get to their swinging wake and the whole space comes to life with special effects, ghosts, and illusions.
You may be coming for the ghostly spirits, but you probably will also want to sample the spirits in the bar. There will be plenty of unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including the Ghoulish Delight and Sympathetic Libations. Disney fans love Haunted Mansion merchandise and they have everyone covered with a mirror inspired by the marquee sign, a coffee mug, a clock that matches the one in the bar, a music box, and a shirt. The best detail in the clock is if you look closely you’ll see the coordinates for the Haunted Mansion attractions around the world!
The Haunted Mansion Parlor is one of the many spaces coming to the Disney Treasure inspired by Disney Parks & Resorts attractions around the world. There will also be lounges inspired by the Jungle Cruise and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, plus a suite inspired by EPCOT! The Disney Treasure sets sail in December 2024, and you can book a cruise for the inaugural season today!
