The stern of each Disney Cruise Line ship is adorned with a sculpture of a beloved character painting the shipās name. And now, the newest ship in the fleet’s Wish class, the Disney Destiny, has just received the superhero touch!

One of three Spider-Bots are painting a web-tastic frame around the ship’s marquee, with Spider-Man releasing a web onto the same Bot. Two other Spider-Bots are nearby, holding a life-preserver and sunglasses, and wearing snorkel gear. Looks like they’re ready for a day at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay!
This marks the first Disney cruise ship featuring a Marvel character on the stern. The characters were installed earlier this week at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg Germany.

The new heroes & villains-themed ship, the Disney Destiny, will sail its Maiden Voyage in just a few months on November 20th, 2025. After the Maiden Voyage, the ship will sail 4- and 5-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
Here’s a look at the concept art versus what the actual stern statue looks like:

You May Be Wondering: Why Spider-Man?
Since showing up as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland’s portrayal of the much beloved hero has gained acclaim from critics and fans alike for his performance as Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Spider-Man has also appeared in three of the highest-grossing films of all time, including Spider-Man: No Way Home, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
He debuted in the Disney attraction space with Web-Slingers at Disney California Adventure‘s Avengers Campus, where an experiment with the Spider-Bots goes (in true theme park fashion) goes terribly wrong. Notably, his appearance on the Disney Destiny cruise ship marks his first themed entertainment debut here on the East Coast — due to that tricky little theme park globe up the road.
