After a two-week journey across the Atlantic, the Disney Destiny has officially arrived in Florida, marking a significant milestone for Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship. The heroes-and-villains-themed vessel sailed into Port Canaveral to a warm welcome from more than 250 cheering cast members and onlookers, with a special appearance by Hero Minnie Mouse herself.
Disney Cruise Line also announced that the live Christening event for the ship will be held on November 10th and that special sneak peeks of the Disney Destiny will be shared throughout the day!

As the ship made its grand entrance late Sunday evening, guests and crew were treated to a first listen of the Disney Destiny’s exclusive horn, a heroic rendition of Go the Distance from Disney’s Hercules. The song will also play a key role in the ship’s new Broadway-style production, Disney Hercules, which will debut onboard during the maiden voyage.
The Disney Destiny will now head to its official homeport of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, where it will prepare for its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025. Over the next few weeks, the crew will finalize onboard details, readying the ship’s immersive experiences, entertainment, and dining for its first guests.
In celebration of the ship’s arrival, Disney Cruise Line also announced the launch of “Discover Your Destiny,” a new initiative designed to inspire creativity and career exploration among students in Florida and The Bahamas. The program will bring Disney entertainment professionals into local schools to share their expertise through interactive workshops, showcasing the many roles that bring Disney magic to life – from stage performers to behind-the-scenes artists and technicians.
Disney says the “Discover Your Destiny” program reflects the ship’s overall theme of courage, creativity, and storytelling. Much like the heroes and villains featured throughout the Disney Destiny, the program encourages students to dream big, embrace their creativity, and discover their own destiny through the power of the arts.
