Hey Disney Cruise Line Friends, we have just been given another gorgeous glimpse at what is coming to the Disney Believe, and I am already imagining what it will be like to step aboard this brand-new ship! During Horizons: D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, Disney Cruise Line revealed some wonderful new details about the ship’s Grand Hall, bow and stern, giving us our first real taste of the storytelling that will make this newest addition to the fleet so special.
The Disney Believe is scheduled to set sail in late 2027, and the entire ship is being built around the idea of believing in magic, family, the power of nature and, of course, believing in yourself. Disney says the ship will feature new venue concepts and entertainment experiences inspired by some of our favorite Disney stories, including Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana and The Little Mermaid.
Moana Welcomes Guests to the Grand Hall
Let’s start with one of my favorite reveals because the Disney Believe’s Grand Hall is going to be inspired by Moana. Just like the Grand Halls aboard the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, this will be the central gathering space where guests get their very first taste of the ship’s story.
At the heart of the space will be a beautiful bronze cast statue of Moana with Pua and Heihei, all looking out toward new horizons. The design will also draw inspiration from the South Pacific setting of the movies, with artisanal Polynesian finishes incorporated throughout the space to honor the cultural traditions of the region.
Tinker Bell Takes Flight on the Bow
Disney Cruise Line has a long tradition of giving each ship its own special character artwork on the bow, and the Disney Believe is getting one that feels absolutely perfect for its name.
Tinker Bell will appear in a delicate, hand-painted filigree inspired by her original appearance in the 1953 animated classic Peter Pan. And she won’t be flying solo! Her design will include silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook and other characters from the film, all appearing to fly through the swirling design.
I mean, Tinker Bell on a ship all about believing in magic? It really doesn’t get much more Disney than that!
Woody and Buzz Head to the Stern
And then we have the stern, where Disney Cruise Line has given us another wonderfully playful surprise. Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Pixar’s Toy Story will be the larger-than-life characters appearing on the back of the Disney Believe.
The pair will be working together to etch the ship’s name across the stern using large yellow crayons, with the lettering taking inspiration from the famous block-style font of the Toy Story franchise. It is such a fun little twist on the traditional Disney Cruise Line ship artwork, and I can already imagine how fantastic this is going to look when the ship is sailing away.
More Disney Believe Magic Is Coming
These new reveals give us a much better idea of how the Disney Believe’s central theme will come together. From Moana looking toward new horizons in the Grand Hall, to Tinker Bell bringing a little pixie dust to the bow, and Woody and Buzz getting creative on the stern, every part of the ship is being designed to tell a story.
And remember, this is only what Disney has shown us so far! With the Disney Believe set to sail in late 2027, there is still plenty more to discover about the ship’s dining, entertainment, accommodations, and those exciting new venue concepts. I don’t know about you, but I will definitely be following along as Disney continues to reveal the magic.
