After last week’s sudden cancellation of the Disney Adventure‘s May 7th sailing due to a mechanical issue, the ship has resumed normal operations as today’s cruise officially departed Singapore as scheduled.
A passenger currently onboard the Disney Adventure posted a photo on X as the ship embarks out to sea with the caption “We have safely set sail!”
What Happened on May 7th?
Guests who boarded the Disney Adventure for a four-night Singapore cruise on May 7th received an unexpected and disappointing update: the voyage would not be proceeding as planned. Approximately 24 hours after boarding, with the ship still docked at Marina Bay Cruise Terminal, guests were informed of the cancellation and asked to begin preparing for disembarkation.
Later that day, a Disney spokesperson clarified: “The Disney Adventure remains in port in Singapore as our teams continue to address a mechanical issue. As the issue has not been resolved in the timeframe required to start this voyage, this current sailing has been cancelled. We apologize to our guests and are working with them directly to provide support for their travel needs.”
Guests received a letter stating they are to receive a 100% refund of their cruise fares, a 50% discount on a future Disney Cruise Line sailing, a complimentary hotel stay for the evening (with shuttle transportation), complimentary ship Wi-Fi to accommodate travel changes, and up to $500 for incidental expenses.
