When it comes to dining aboard a Disney Cruise, Palo stands out as one of the most sophisticated and exclusive venues, offering an elevated culinary experience straight from Italy. As one of Disney’s adult-exclusive restaurants, Palo boasts an elegant ambiance that’s a treat for both the senses and the soul (I mean, hello healing Chocolate Soufflé). However, just as important as the delicious food and the fine service is the restaurant’s dress code, which ensures that every guest feels as refined as the experience itself.

Palo’s Dress Code
The dress code at Palo is designed to maintain the upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. While Disney Cruise Line does not require formal wear for guests, they do ask that attire remain smart and sophisticated. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
For Men: Collared shirts (button-down shirts or polos), dress pants, and closed-toe shoes. A jacket is optional but recommended for an even more polished look.
For Women: Dresses, skirts, or dress pants with blouses, and comfortable yet elegant shoes. While not required, a dress or a dressy top can add to the evening’s charm.
The general idea is to go for a “elegant casual” style that’s polished but not overly formal; dress-casual attire with a polished look, such as dress pants, jeans in good condition, dressy tops and lifestyle shoes. While shorts, flip-flops, or tank tops are not appropriate for Palo, guests are encouraged to dress in a way that complements the upscale environment without being too formal. (However, dress shorts are acceptable for Palo brunch.)

The One Night You Can Break The Code
Disney Cruise Line is known for its fun and family-friendly atmosphere, and one of the most popular events on board is Pirate Night – an evening full of pirate music, characters, storytelling, costumes, a dance party on the top deck, and of course, fireworks.

But, if you’d like to skip the traditional Pirate Night menu in your dining rotation, yet would still like to enjoy the swashbuckling festivities… there may be a solution. Did you know Palo allows guests to wear their pirate garb inside the restaurant on Pirate Night? That’s right! This is the one night when guests can completely deviate from Palo’s elegant dress code in favor of something playful and adventurous.

So, if you time it right, you can enjoy a leisurely Palo dinner, and finish up your Chocolate Soufflé just before the late-night deck party and fireworks begin — all in your beloved pirate costume. Just be sure to let the host at Palo know you’d like to enjoy both dinner and the scheduled pirate festivities to ensure you get to do it all in one night!
Whether you’re dressing up for Palo on a regular night or gearing up for Pirate Night, one thing is for sure: every night aboard a Disney Cruise is filled with unforgettable moments!

I have never seen anything from Disney that indicates you can “break” the adult dining dress code. I will say that a lot of pirate night gear would actually fit in the dress code, especially the more relaxed one they’ve had for the past year-ish. So you don’t even have to “break” the dress code to dine in Palo on pirate night as long as your outfit meets the guidelines.
